This purpose of this website is to increase the visibility of Native Americans of California as agents of historical change. By bringing together a number of biographical sketches of individuals who adapted and exercised agency to survive, this webpage aims to be a portal for: a) Raising awareness b) Countering ingrained negative stereotypes c) Promoting and facilitating research for students, teachers, and scholars
