NATIVE TEENS & SUICIDE

Teen suicide, a tragedy in any single instance and is magnified many times over in the Native American community, where poverty, alcohol abuse and other social ills push a disproportionately high number of teens over the brink. Training a spotlight on the issue, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee last month held the first Capitol Hill hearing on the subject, following a field hearing in North Dakota the month before.
Racism, poverty, teen suicide on reservations, the derogatory perversion of American Indian names on Minnesota rivers and other locations across the country, and learning respect for the environment from Earth-based cultures were among the topics discussed at a Native American Roundtable held Sept 13-15, 2007 in northern Michigan. Howka sisters and brothers.... There is a great internet resource that will give you access to easy and fast information on federal services, benefits and resources , it's called http://www.usa.gov/
Some of the things you can do is file for Social security or other government benefits, apply for government grants, purchase governemnet property, apply for government jobs, renew a drivers license, get a passport, find the cheapest gas prices, contact elected officials and many more things.
